Marvel Theories
Alexis Werling '22 Staff Writer
The Marvel Universe, an ever-changing world that keeps growing with time. Although it is well known for its superheroes from the movies and comics, what if things weren’t what we believed them to be? What if the X-Men meet the Avengers? What will the fifth Avengers movie be about? This article will discuss some of the more known and popular Marvel theories and the varying opinions on them, as well as Howard student’s thoughts on whether or not they will become true. After Endgame many people have been trying to figure out who the next big villain will be, and now that Thanos is gone, who’s next? Many fans have gone to the task of making theories based on the comics, some believing that Galactus will be the next bad guy. Shea O’Loughlin, a Howard student, gave his input on this theory. Shea states that it is “definitely Galactus as that’s the only feasible step up from Thanos.” Galactus, destroyer of worlds, is known as one of the Marvel Universe’s biggest villains. With the recent announcement regarding the Fantastic Four entering the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) in a movie, it is believed that this is opening a whole new world of heroes and villains to the Avengers. Speaking of the Avengers, everyone is wondering what the plot of the next Avengers movie will be. There are many theories about this- it would take a while to sort through them all- but the most popular ones are surrounding the X-Men. The X-Men haven’t yet been introduced to the MCU, but many fans believe that the theme of the newest movie surrounding the Avengers will have the X-Men pairing up with them to defeat a new villain. While others believe that the X-Men are being introduced, some believe that characters from Disney+ such as She-Hulk will be introduced into the film. Justice Kirkman, a graduate, was happy to give his own opinion on the theory, explaining, “I’m pretty sure certain characters in Disney+ shows will have a cameo in the next Avengers installment for sure.” Now that Captain America has traveled back in time to be with Peggy Carter, people have begun to wonder who the next Avengers leader will be. Many say that Captain America will be passing it down to Bucky, the Winter Soldier, due to their friendship, but others have a firm belief that it is going to be Captain Marvel who is taking on the role of leader for the new generation of the Avengers. With Captain Marvel protecting the universe, it is becoming quite an interesting theory to piece together. Perhaps now that Thanos has been defeated, she will have some time to run this new generation of heroes. But some have other thoughts on the new leader. Edward Stanley, a Howard student, was delighted to contribute his thoughts on the subject. He explains, “I think they might go with Bucky or Sam as the new Captain America and leader of the Avengers.” With the Marvel Universe being ever-shifting and changing, we can't be certain which theories are founded on reality and which are only speculative. But what we do know is that the next Avengers generation is going to be a cinematic masterpiece. |
