Is Digital Art Real Art?

Art is all around us, from clothing designs and logos to buildings and architecture. Many people believe that digital art isn’t “real” art due to the fact that it can be sold in multiple copies, which means that it is “less in value.” In other words, since there is no “original piece” that can be physically seen on a canvas, many people think that there isn’t much importance to a digital artwork because it can easily be copied, pasted and sold. Some people believe that it’s “cheating” and since it’s easier to create, it doesn’t exactly count as art. Why is that? Many people claim that it's because they don’t have to go through the process of creating colors or controlling the texture of their materials like fine artists do; that digital artists do not have to deal with the same time and effort put into creating a physical artwork.
The truth is that digital art is one of the best methods to use as a beginner because it’s very flexible and allows the user to be able to undo their mistakes and use tools like flipping a canvas from left to right to really observe their drawing and see if there are disproportionate areas of the piece. Art comes in many different forms and techniques, but the ever-changing technology in society has provided many new opportunities for artists, from amateurs to professionals. Digital art contains many different styles and methods, so there is a lot of freedom and experimenting involved in it as much as there would be with physical tools and materials in traditional art. Some types of digital art include graphic design, animation, dynamic painting, 2D and 3D computer graphics, data moshing and many more.
Just like traditional artworks, they take around the same amount of time to revise though digital art has the upperhand in this due to the fact that artists do not have to completely start over when something is off about their work. Digital artists can always “undo” things and select and move objects around which is something that cannot be done with traditional art. In other words, the so-called “cheats” of digital art don’t only make digital painting quicker, but make it more convenient for artists to progress and learn new techniques. Like traditional artists, digital artists still use references, create sketches, use materials and brush tools, use composition and still end with a final piece. The only difference is that digital art makes it easier to get materials and fix up mistakes. They have a lot of resources put out for them to test out simply with a press of a tool and a brush of a tablet pen.
The digital art community has been blessed with the opportunity to make a successful business in this modern job industry. A digital artist today could create concept art for movies and games or background designs or themes for animated shows and films. Digital artists could also make commissions for fans if they have an online presence. A lot of content creating digital artists get sponsorship opportunities like reviewing tablets, computers or laptops, along with promotional content for popular companies. These opportunities would have not been possible without the knowledge and experience of digital painting, which would not be offered if we only knew and had the skills for traditional art.
