Marvel meets sitcom? Yes, please! WandaVision on Disney+ has taken the world by storm. It is a follow up to the previous Marvel movies, showcasing a new reality that Wanda Maximoff created after the loss of Vision during the movie Infinity War. This new reality is set in the town of West View, New Jersey, and in each episode there is a new time period starting with the '50s. With each new episode comes new conspiracies on what's to come next during phase four of the MCU (including Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and the third MCU Spider Man, No Way Home) , so let's go over the previous episodes and look at some of the theories that could come true. Episode one of WandaVision, “Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience”, is set in the ’50s where we meet many of our favorite characters including Agnes (Wanda’s neighbor), Herb and Vision’s associates at his new job. The beginning of the episode starts with both Wanda and Vision seeing a heart on the date of the 23rd on their calendar. The couple do not know why it is there, and both try to guilt-trip each other for not knowing because they believe it had some significant meeting about them. Then Vision goes to work while Wanda stays at home- a classic husband and wife relationship during this time period.

We meet Agnes for the first time when she talks to Wanda about the mysterious date where both of them come to the conclusion that it stands for an anniversary. When coming to that assumption, many interesting questions arise such as Agnes asking where her rings were, or when they got married. Wanda didn't seem to know much about her past, which set the show's mysterious tone at first, but then quickly returned back to its playful sitcom form. While at work, Vision talks to his coworker when his boss Mr. Hart comes over and he promptly returns back to his work. Mr. Hart reminds Vision that as a new associate he must have him and his wife over for dinner to show him how impressive he is both inside and outside of work. Vision then remembers that the heart on the calendar was actually an abbreviation for the dinner planned with Mr. and Mrs. Hart. Soon, Vision returns home with the Harts while Wanda is dressed up for their special night- forcing the couple to make up an excuse as to why she’s so dressed up. Later in the night, they are eating dinner when Mr. Hart starts to choke on his food and the cryptic tone returns when Mrs. Hart weirdly tells her husband to stop it while laughing as he falls to the floor. This sets the peculiar and enigmatic tone for future WandaVision episodes, which makes the audience start questioning the reality the characters are in. The episode ends with an abrupt short clip but this time in color, juxtaposing the entire black and white episode. The clip showed a hand writing something down with a T.V. and a symbol from the agency Sword, which we have seen in previous Marvel films. After this first episode, several doubts and conspiracy theories have arisen, so let's dissect this. When meeting Agnes for the first time, many long-time Marvel comic readers have recognized her name and have made the connection that her name most likely came from the character Agatha Harkness from the comics.

They also see Agnes wearing the same brooch that Agatha commonly wore in the comics. Agatha Harkness from the comics is famously known from the Salem Witch trials, and she even trains Wanda in the comics. But later in the comics, she turns into a much more evil character. She starts to work with Mephisto, who can be considered the devil character within the MCU universe. Agatha eventually uses Wanda's children to feed Mephisto's energy, even eating them in the comics. Many fans are hoping that in later episodes Agnes is revealed to be Agatha Harkness because she could be the new “Big Bad”, or possibly Mephisto could be as well. But how does WandaVision open up ideas for Phase Four and the next Marvel movies to come? Wanda already creating a new reality is giving rise to questions about the possibility of multiverses coming into play soon, due to the speculation of multiverses in the new Spider-Man 3 movie and the new upcoming “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness” movie. The first episode does not put a lot of speculation around the idea of a multiverse in WandaVision, but many people are hoping there will be more hints about it in the upcoming episodes in order to open up ideas for the new movies to come and create an interesting turn to the plot of WandaVision. If you tune into Disney plus to watch the rest of the episodes get ready for some crazy reveals and plot twist that set up the future of the MCU. Now that Wanda Vision has ended we also have more marvel content coming up like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also on Disney Plus and new movies as well. The upcoming events of the MCU are something like never before and are going to bring new characters and new never before things to the MCU.
