The Argument for Virtual Learning - Tavon Curtis
Virtual school is better. It's better because online courses provide students the flexibility to learn on their own schedule, instead of a mandatory class time. Virtual courses give students more selection in their courses. There is a wider course catalog for students. Because it's highly adaptable, virtual learning oftentimes helps students where they are academically, emotionally and socially. Students can learn on their schedule as well as accelerate or slow down their pace. For people who do not appreciate the structure of in-person classroom meetings, online learning is a great alternative. Students all work and learn at different paces, and online classes offer the ability for students to customize their learning.
Online learning not only cuts back on paper and electricity use but also littering, and anything else on campus. When there is in person learning kids will just throw trash anywhere outside the school, and inside. If everyone was virtual then that would not be that much of a problem. It would still happen a little bit but it won't be the kids who go there doing it. Also the teaching is more flexible for some students because there were certain days that were made for teachers to help students that need the extra help. I read from an article that studies have also shown that, “online courses use 90% less energy and have 85% fewer carbon emissions than traditional, face-to-face classes.” Another really good thing about virtual learning is the cost is way lower than in person.
I do agree that virtual school would be better, but it may not be for other students. I say this because, many families aren’t supported with technology and don’t have access to the tools they need. Sometimes a student can't stay engaged or focused because of everything going on at home or because they have so much stuff to do that school is not a priority for them. Virtual would help because at home some people have more stable environments and there is not that much going on. Even though there are some disadvantages with virtual learning, like more ways for students to be distracted. Some of the ways kids at school are distracted is they are with their friends, bored of the teacher talking so they use their phones, also they could be distracted by not even being in class, like being in the office or suspension. There are more disadvantages with in-person learning. Overall virtual learning is better because it has flexibility and it’s easier to manage than traditional in person learning.

The Argument for In-Person Learning - Kamryn Tinsley
In-person learning is more effective than online learning because students get more work done and can maintain good grades while being in the school environment with their peers, teachers and learning material.
If they need any mental health guidance, the school counselor is always there to guide them along with their school achievements and any mental health assistance.
Virtual learning limits the assistance students receive from teachers, disrupts sleep schedules and causes stress. Teachers couldn’t really help much because they didn’t have all the materials and some teachers didn’t put much effort into helping students because they were mentally drained themselves.
Overall, in-person learning is a better decision for students and their mental health, which should be a big concern to teachers considering that they want to help all of their students and see them succeed in life and not be as stressed. Virtual learning wasn’t taken very seriously and it was poorly planned because it was brought upon students and teachers on such short notice and they didn’t have time to prepare , such as them being told they would be back to school in two weeks' notice.
Despite the flexibility of online learning, in-person learning is better for students because they are able to be in a helpful environment where it is easier to maintain their grades, get to know their peers and teachers, and prepare themselves for success even during a rough patch . The transition to In-Person was rough for students and expectations really weren’t as good as they used to be. Although being home might seem fun and relaxing, students need to be in a more helpful environment with their assignments and any extra needs.
