Tamyra Proctor, FRESHMAN
Tamyra is almost half way through her first year as a Howard lion. It’s a new environment in more ways than one, but Tamyra navigates it with style.
What’s your favorite class?
TP: Math with Ms. Adams. She’s nice.
What is your favorite hallway?
TP: My favorite hallway, all the way down, is the first one in the B hallway, cuz it’s closer to all the rooms.
What is your favorite place that you’ve been?
TP: L.A. Cause I went there for Lil Durk, I went to a concert.

Mr. Greg Bulger, MEDIA SPECIALIST
Mr. Greg Bulger is one of the Media Specialists at Howard High. You may have met him if you have ever had trouble with your Chromebook or the school WiFi.
GB: My name is Greg Bulger and I am a media specialist here at Howard. My job is to help connect students with the resources they need to learn.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Howard?
GB: The students. I’m a big kid, so I needed to stay in high school.
What are your hobbies or interests outside of school?
GB: Aside from my family, which is very important to me, I referee a variety of sports, mostly men’s lacrosse. So anywhere from youth to college level. That’s kinda my big avocation and that takes most of my time outside of here.

What is your favorite class at Howard?
SR: I would say probably band right now because, you know, I get to make music. It’s fun. My favorite teacher is Mr. Welker. He’s a really positive person and let’s say like, I have a bad day, I can count on Mr. Welker to make me laugh.
What is your favorite hallway?
SR: Probably this hallway because it’s really quiet and you get to see the outside for a few seconds everyday.

What’s your favorite class?
M: ASL and Foundations of Tech. My teachers are really nice and they’re just really fun classes. Mr. McLaughlin is my Foundations of Tech teacher and then my ASL teacher is Ms. Lazzor.
K: My favorites are my ASL teacher and biology because my teacher’s really nice. I have Ms. Allen, she’s really sweet. She calls me and my friend her little rays of sunshine. She’s really nice and funny, I like her.
Do you have any extracurriculars or clubs you do here at Howard?
M: We both really like baking club. It doesn’t happen very often, it’s like once a month, but it’s really fun. I’m obsessed with watching baking shows like baking championships on Food Network. Every single holiday, we watch every single season.
K: We were so sad when the episodes ran out, we were like, what am I supposed to do now?
Are there any specific things you like baking?
M: I like to bake pound cake cause my mom has this old recipe so it’s always really good.
Do you have any ideas of what your post high school plans are going to be?
M: Something with art because I want to make a comic. That’s what I really want to do.
K: To make one together.

Jenna Gilby and Kate Land, SENIORS
Jenna and Kate are student aids this year. I interviewed them as they helped construct a Lion holiday decoration in the media center. They were not enthusiastic about it.
Have you named this monstrosity?
KL: Yeah. Pain in my butt.
JG: Or Gerald.
KL: No, Gerald is a turkey that I blew up from a latex glove, actually. Unfortunately, something happened to Gerald when I left him.
JG: He’s missing in action.
KL: We left after first period that day and then we never saw him again.
JG: Been sad ever since.
Do you have any plans for after high school?
KL: I actually just got accepted into Salisbury University. I was thinking about majoring in communications and minoring in anthropology. Anthropology is the study of humans, in all places, in all times, and how we came to be essentially.
JG: I just did my application for Towson, so I’m hoping to get in there. I wouldn’t mind being a media specialist.
What’s your favorite hallway?
KL: It depends on what you’re asking. Favorite to walk through between classes? Definitely not the B hallway.
JG: Or the N Hallway.
KL: But if you’re talking about mid-class walks, definitely running through the B hallway into the N hallway.
KL: I’m lying, don’t do that. Wink, wink.
