While the school year is starting again and many will have less time to unwind after long days, sometimes a good book is the perfect escape. Here are 5 books to get lost in this year:
4. Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas: When Yadriel’s family won’t accept him as a boy, he sets out to prove himself as one. But when proving he’s a real boy involves doing a dangerous ritual (with only the help of his friend) and summoning a ghost, things don’t go quite as expected. This sets Yadriel off on a quest to find his disappeared cousin and find the murderer of a boy at school, all without the help of his more experienced family.

5. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzzane Collins: This is the long-awaited prequel to the critically acclaimed Hunger Games series. Set during the tenth annual Hunger Games, Corionalus Snow is assigned as the mentor of a tribute from District 12, a doomed task and doomed district. Snow must figure out not only how to coach the young tribute to survive, but also how he himself must survive, against odds that stack higher and higher against him.
